Gallery Layout
Quirk Gallery — Richmond, VA April 2026
I collaborated with artist Anne Blackwell Thompson of Blackwell Botanicals to develop the exhibition layout and presentation design for “A Commonwealth in Bloom” at Quirk Gallery. My role focused on designing the layout of the gallery and working closely with the artist on frame selections and finishing details for 24 individual works.
Throughout the process, I considered spacing, sightlines, scale, and overall visual flow to create a cohesive experience throughout the gallery while still allowing each wall to feel visually distinct. I worked collaboratively with the artist to balance consistency and variation across the space, making presentation decisions that supported the tone of the exhibition while also thinking through the practical and logistical details involved in bringing the show together.
This project gave me hands-on experience with exhibition planning, curatorial presentation, and collaborative creative problem-solving within a professional gallery environment.
